六臂如意輪観世音菩薩
Roppi-Nyoirin-Kanzeon-Bosatsu
六臂如意輪観世音菩薩（ろっぴにょいりんかんぜおんぼさつ）は、すべてに救いの手を差し伸べるために、仏教の六道をそれぞれ表す6本の腕が表現されている。
左手には煩悩をはらう宝輪を、右手には願いを叶える宝珠を持ち、観音様がすべての衆生を苦しみから解放するという本願を表現している。もう1つの手は蓮をお持ちになり、これは、泥だらけの池から蓮が成長するように、修行を通じて自分の存在を超越するすべての衆生の能力を象徴している。像の右側の手は、指を顎にそっと寄せ瞑想する姿を表現している。
The Roppi-Nyoirin Kanzeon depicts six arms of Buddha, each representing the six paths of Buddhism, and they exist to extend a helping hand to all. In the left hand there is a treasure wheel that wards off earthly desires. The right hand holds a jewel that grants wishes, representing the Kannon’s original vow to liberate humans from suffering. Another hand holds a lotus, which symbolizes the ability of all humans to transcend their existence through practice, similar to a lotus growing out of a muddy pond. Lastly, another hand on the right side of the statue represents a meditative figure with their fingers gently on their chin.
摩尼殿
Mani-den
天禄元年（970）創建。本尊は六臂如意輪観世音菩薩（ろっぴにょいりんかんぜおんぼさつ）で、天女が桜の木を礼拝するのを見て、性空上人が根のあるままの生木に観音像を刻まれた。そのために岩山の中腹に舞台造りの建物となった。火事で失われたこともあるが、その度に再建され、2023年には国の重要文化財に指定された。
This temple was built in 970 and its principle image is Roppi-Nyoirin-Kanzeon-Bosatsu. Shoku Shonin was inspired to carve a statue of the Bodhisattva of Mercy into a live tree with roots after seeing a vision of a celestial maiden worshiping a cherry tree. For this reason, it was built halfway up the mountain with a stage-like structure. Although the hall was destroyed in a fire several times, each time it was restored. The restored building was added to the list of important cultural heritage of Japan in 2023.
